At the entrance to the church the Synod participants were greeted by Rev. Bohdan Lukie CSsR, pastor of St. Joseph’s parish.  He handed His Beatitude Sviatoslav the personal cross of the Blessed Bishop and Martyr Mykyta Budka, whose centennial of arriving in Canada is commemorated by the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Canada this year.

With Parliamentary debate on marriage resuming today in Canberra, 19 of Australia’s denominational leaders and 267 other church leaders have signed a joint statement calling for the Marriage Act to remain unchanged, reports The International News Magazine.

This year at our parish we will held the preparation for First Confession and Solemn Communion.

As fewer and fewer young people keep up with their faith,Jesus Christ and his Church are further away from their daily thinking. We live in a very secular world where spirituality has more to do with singing birds than anything Jesus said or did. The old traditions of our ancestors turn out to be just that. Something our grandparents did,but something which has little significance in "my world”.
