Greek-Catholics from around the world will join the pilgrimage on the occasion of the blessing of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv, to be held on August 17-18, 2013 during the celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine. During an interview with UGCC Department of Information, Bishop Joseph (Milan), Head of the Building Overseer Council and Head of the 1025th anniversary of Baptism of Rus-Ukraine Organizing Committee, shared this information. "Information available to me right now shows that pilgrims are coming from the whole world. People from Australia have already registered. They are asking us to reserve places for them in the Church, at the services, at the opera, at the banquet since they are flying 26 hours and want to be guaranteed access to the celebrations. Right now the two groups from Australia number some 30 people. People from USA and Canada have also expressed interest. I think we will have faithful also from Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Khazastan, Baltic countries, all European countries, and, of course, from Ukraine itself,” related the Bishop. Bishop Joseph announced that there is already a functioning Pilgrimage Center which on its site offers various tours through Central and Eastern Ukraine. | |
