On Saturday, 22 February 2014, the Parish of St Volodymyr in Canberra and Queanbeyan held their Biennual General Meeting. What marks this specific BGM different from those in years past that it was the first time one had been held for the entire parish, and not just for one of the two Churches that comprise the parish. This reflects the discussion nights and work that has been done with the Vibrant Parish program, aimed at revitalising our parish and bringing us all closer together. The new committee - lead by Petro Lutak - has members from both Churches, and looks forward to closer integration of events and assistance between the two Churches. At the meeting we were also formally greeted by our new Parish Administrator, Fr Laurence Foote. Whilst we are all saddened to see Fr Andriy Mykytiuk and his family go, we wish them the best of luck in Melbourne and warmly welcome Fr Foote and look forward to working with him during his tenure here. Fr Foote officially takes over his duties as of 1 March, though Fr Andriy will still be conducting Liturgies throughout March before travelling to Melbourne at the beginning of April. | |
