On the weekend of 26-27 November, the church of St Michael in Queanbeyan, celebrated their Parish Feast Day. We commenced on Saturday night with Great Vespers with Litiya and on Sunday morning, our parish priest, Father Andriy Mykytyuk celebrated Divine Liturgy. The parish choir, based at St Volodymyr's Church in Canberra but drawing members from both locations, enriched our spiritual experience and prayer with their singing of the Liturgy. Father's sermon addressed the sin of pride and how it blocks us from becoming closer to God. To effectively fight it, we need to adopt the motto 'Who is as God'. After Divine Liturgy, a luncheon was held at the Queanbeyan Leagues Club. Formalities included speeches of congratulations and best wishes from the heads of a number of Ukrainian organisations in Queanbeyan and the parish of St Volodymyr in Canberra.
