On Thursday, 28 July 2011 we were privileged to have a visit from Sister Luiza Ciupa and Father Taras Barshchevskyy, who came out from Ukraine to discuss with us the new Catechism of our church: "Christ our Pascha". Sr Luiza - the deputy head of the Patriarchal Catechetical Commission - and Fr Taras - the secretary of the working committee - explained to us the basis of the new catechism and its developmental process, and answered questions that our parishioners had on what we believed and how it differed not only from the Roman Catholic Church but also our Orthodox brethren. Whilst an English translation is not expected to be finalised and approved for at least half a year, Father Andriy has several copies available in the parish that can be borrowed by anyone interested in reading it. photo here | |
