On Saturday, 22 February 2014, the Parish of St Volodymyr in Canberra
and Queanbeyan held their Biannual General Meeting. What marks this
specific BGM different from those in years past that it was the first
time one had been held for the entire parish, and not just for one of
the two Churches that comprise the parish.
|
Blessing of the Presentation’s Candles will take place in Queanbeyan on Saturday, 15th February after Divine Liturgy at 9 am and in Canberra — on Saturday 15th February 2014 AD after Divine Liturgy at 11 am. You can bring your own candle or there will be a possibility to purchase one in the church.

The
recent events in Ukraine have left us shocked and saddened. As we
prepare to celebrate Australia Day we are reminded how blessed we are to
live in a peaceful, stable, democratic and free country, whilst our
brothers and sisters in Ukraine once again face a despotic and corrupt
regime which deprives our people of those freedoms that we in Australia
take for granted.
|
The spirit
of Ukraine was alive and kicking on Friday 17 January when the Ukrainian communities
of Canberra and Queanbeyan came together to celebrate Malanka at St Volodymyr’s
parish hall in Lyneham after 17 years break.
